Nothing feels so good when you are deleting a lot of spam emails and being able to scroll down to the bottom at a blink of an eye and right back to the top again. I thought now that university is over I need to do some clearing up in all my email inboxes as they are filled with so much junk that it is about time I let it breathe. There are also a lot of emails which I have been meaning to delete but just ended up forgetting about them lol. But now, I have been using my computer a lot, I thought it is about time that I cleared out some stuff I no longer need to make space for more emails from work and bills and things that “grown-ups” have to sort out and pay for.

Ice Cream is the best solution for any situation. When it is hot, you eat ice cream. When you are happy and in need of a celebration, eat ice cream. When you are sad and need a pick me up, grab a spoon and scoop out half a tub of ice cream. When you are angry and need to vent, grab all the ice cream you can and soon your anger will melt away.

Whatever flavour takes your fancy, just keep scooping some in your mouth. Or if you want to be elegant about it, use a cone (which has also different types) or a bowl or even better save some dishwashing liquid and water by just eating out of the tub!
Summer is just around the corner (I know I keep saying that cause the weather has been really gloomy again) and more ice cream will fill the fridge and my stomach, so much for a summer diet lol.
I used to have a Pinterest account for my A-Levels art class that we had for one of the modules but back then I wasn’t really into it. I just didn’t get the concept and the whole thing wasn’t really my thing. We used it for one of the modules that had to do with the human anatomy and so I used it to collect brain images and create boards about body types which then led to a psychological project about the human mind on body image. I tried to create some more random boards as a personal hobby but it didn’t stick and it was just time-consuming.
But now that I have more time on my hands and my sister said I should give it another go, I have decided to take up Pinteresting again lol. So far, there have been a lot of quotes collecting and a lot of Once Upon A Time pictures sourced (especially OutlawQueen). I don’t really know if I can carry on with it on a consistent basis but I am sure in between jobs and doing chores and when I am super bored I will be able to full through the Pinterest rabbit hole and probably never reappear again!
A little tale about a tale about ants that my mother told me…
We woke up to an ant infestation. My little sister, Bea was panicking because the ants are trying to attack her by crawling on her arm. She was also annoyed and distressed that ants are invading her playhouse and she doesn’t understand where they are coming from. I told her its okay and we were just going to vacuum them up later because I still need to make breakfast. I left her there and soon she was screaming again because she wanted to go to the kitchen but her path was blocked by a dozen ants walking back and forth looking for stray crumbs or bits of fluff they are able to carry to their undiscovered home. I had to help her across so she can go to the kitchen but was, of course, met with the dilemma of crossing the same line to go back into the living room again. Anyways, I finished making breakfast and Bea was eager to report the ant infestation to my mum who had just come down the stairs. My mum told her that it’s okay and that once breakfast is finished we will sort it out.
*cue moral story about ants*
While we were having breakfast, my mum just randomly said that she felt sorry for the ants because they are being killed. She said that the ants are so cold in the winter that they hibernate under the soil just so they can survive and once summer comes around the soil will be too hot and just like people they want to enjoy the hot weather but instead people are trying to kill them by vacuuming them up or drowning them with wet wipes or water (which is really sad if you really think about it). This got me thinking about the little ants’ feelings and how we need to let them enjoy their summer holidays too (although they did eat the lemon cake and have been hanging around and on the dining room table for 2 weeks now).
So, the moral of the story is that ants shouldn’t be killed because they have lives and (families) too, so they deserve a little break… unless they start eating the food again then that is when I draw the line!
I have been so busy with finding a job and sorting out appointments that I need to attend that I haven’t had time to read my theory test book. That book has been sitting on my shelf since the end of the start of June and so far I have only read a couple of pages. (the introduction lol) I feel like every time I try and read it my brain goes blank and my heart sinks. Maybe a part of me still doesn’t want to drive and is keeping me from even flicking through the book. I have been taking some practice ones on the internet and so far I have been failing most of them so that I have been sort of discouraged. But at least I have been getting some practice in rather than procrastinating (despite failing free tests lol)
I will get there in the end but right now, I need to focus on getting everything else sorted out in terms of work and teaching my sister how to toilet train (she recently passed the potty test). But after July, I am hoping to book some lessons this summer just so I can make a start on it.

My little sister is going to nursery in September and as a way of helping her learn some skills and educational lessons, her school has been sending my parents some games to play to help her learn. They recently went for a parents evening at her school to meet the teachers and discuss things we need to do to help her be prepared for the school year. The school is partnered with an app called Easy Peasy which has some weekly games that parents can play with their child. My mum was playing with Bea the other day and she is now obsessed with playing some of the activities.
She really liked the Stepping Stones game, where we had to cut several shapes (4 circles, 4 squares and 4 triangles) and placed a ball on the other side of the room. The shapes were spread out all over the floor (or river) and she had to step on 1 specific shape only in order to retrieve the ball. That was a good game to play as it helped her with her shape recognition (plus tired her out a bit lol). She also liked the Selfie game in which we all took selfies which depict different emotions. She then had to identify that emotion and describe that when she feels that emotion and why does she feel that way. The second part of the game she doesn’t have a full concept yet but she really enjoyed taking selfies on Snapchat and making faces. The last game she really enjoyed this week was the Patience game. The game was supposed to be done with strawberries but we used chocolate fingers instead (cause we didn’t have any strawberries). We had to hold the chocolate finger for one minute. It is to test your patience and has been researched to indicate that children who can wait for their food for at least one minute (no matter how tempting it is to lick or take a bite) are likely to become more successful in life. Bea did really well (plus we got to eat some chocolate fingers although I am on a diet lol).
There were only a few games available but I think it’s a good idea to also have some home-learning aid to help boost their skills and get them more familiar with educational lessons they could be studying in school. We are all excited for the next set of games next week!
